Corcoran alumna featured in local Art Gallery

Reincorporation Jamboree, curated by Steven Frost, the Corcoran’s senior assistant director of admissions, is currently on exhibition at the Honfleur Gallery in Washington, D.C. Along with several other artists, the exhibition features the photography of Corcoran graduate, Hatnim Lee. Honfleur Gallery worked with Frost to facilitate the show, which explores contemporary coming-of-age experiences through the eyes of emerging artists.

craigslist explores how four artists utilize this renowned community website as a conceptual component in their artistic practice. The exhibition features works by the artist team Joseph Dumbacher & John Dumbacher, Jason Horowitz, and Jason Zimmerman and is co-curated by Jayme McLellan, director of Civilian Art Projects and Andrea Pollan, director of Curator's Office. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, March 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. An essay by Andrea Pollan accompanies the exhibition.

Corcoran Graduate Exhibits at Greater Reston Arts Center

Melanie Newlon, graduate of the Corcoran College of Art + Design, will have new work on display in Faraway Nearby Annual Juried Exhibition at Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE). Juried by Dale Lanzone of Marlborough Gallery, Faraway Nearby opens June 18 and remains on view through July 31.

Black/White by Reuben Breslar at The Athenaeum

Black/White, an exhibition of painting, collage, and installation by Corcoran alumnus Reuben Breslar (BFA Fine Arts, 2006) opened on February 9 at The Athenaeum in Alexandria, Virginia, and will remain on view through March 16.
