Family Workshops

Join us on select Saturday mornings throughout the year for themed, 90-minute workshops designed especially for kids and families! Family workshops begin in the galleries with an interactive tour followed by an artist-led activity in our art studios. Take home your own work of art inspired by your visit to the Gallery.
Workshops are limited to children ages 8–12 and their adult companions. Re-entry to the exhibitions after the workshop is not permitted without the purchase of an admission ticket or Family membership. (Workshop fees can be applied to the cost of a Family membership.)

Hurry to the special exhibition, Turner to Cézanne: Masterpieces from the Davies Collection, National Museum Wales, to catch colorful sunrises of pink, purple, blue, and orange. Following the tour, create your own dazzling display of light in an Impressionist sunrise using watercolor ink and plant fiber paper.

Pulp to Paper

Paint and canvas are not the only tools artists use to create. See portraits made from wood blocks, strings, and even paper pulp in the special exhibition Chuck Close Prints: Process and Collaboration. Following the tour, create your own hand-made paper from bits of paper pulp.
