Personal Information

After graduating with a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri, Lauren Stockbower worked for a decade both as a staff newspaper photographer and freelancer throughout Asia. Then as Director she ran a photo cooperative called Archive Pictures in New York City. For 20 years she has worked as a picture editor for various publications, including The New York Times, Forbes, Business Week, and US News & World Report. She now freelances as a picture editor for clients such as National Geographic Traveler, USA Today, and The Nature Conservancy. She works on both print and web projects as a picture editor, and educator.
