Gail Lazio-Xavier is an award winning interior designer with expertise in academic, corporate, R&D, government, healthcare, hospitality and residential design. Born and raised in South America, Gail attended Drexel University and received a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design; graduating with honors as an Omicron Nu Society member. Gail’s Interior Design career began in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has extended to Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. Gail has over 20 years of experience working for companies such as Knoll International, Kenneth Parker Associates, Design Partnership, Ewing Cole Cherry Brott, Hartman Design Group, and LSY Architects, LLC. Her work on the interiors’ of McGuire Air Force Base/Ambulatory Health Care Center received the Construction Award 2003 for Interior Design from USAF. As a Residential Designer, Gail was featured in the PHILADELPHIA HOME BOOK/Premier Edition 2001 for the Richards Residence located in the Society Hill sector of Philadelphia. In addition to her illustrious career, Gail was an Associate Professor for both Graduate and Undergraduate Interior Design Programs at Drexel University and a Professor of Interior Design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. She joined the part time adjunct faculty at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in the Fall of 2010 in Washington, D.C. and teaches the Representation/Documentation class. In the Fall of 2010, Gail founded I.D.Culture, LLC – a design company focused on providing independent interior design consulting services to Commercial and Residential clients. Gail is a volunteer and fundraises for Habitat for Humanity Montgomery County and completed her first “Women’s Build” house which was dedicated in July 2010.
