The Eyes of History 2002: An Exhibition of Award-Winning Photographs by White House Photojournalists
May 29, 2002–July 29, 2002
May 29, 2002–July 29, 2002
In its second year at the Corcoran, The Eyes of History 2002 showcases the work of the country's most distinguished group of photojournalists-the White House News Photographers' Association (WHNPA)-and features compelling images documenting the year's top news stories. Photographs in the exhibition capture a broad spectrum of human emotion and show a variety of poignant moments.
The Eyes of History 2002 is an annual WHNPA contest judged at the Corcoran in February by a panel of three independent professional photographers and photo editors.
Co-organized by the Corcoran and the White House News Photographers' Association as part of the formal partnership between two organizations, this exhibition marks the second consecutive year that works from the competition have ever been exhibited in a major museum of art.
Exhibition Coordinator: Paul Brewer, Director of College Exhibitions
