One of the most influential American artists of the 20th century, Gordon Parks (1912–2006) was perhaps best known for his work as a photojournalist. He used photography, film, writing, and music to express an enduring message of hope in the face of adversity. This exhibition showcases a selection of Parks’s photographic essays about pressing social issues like poverty, race, segregation, and crime.
