Cosmo Couture showcases handmade garments designed by Corcoran College of Art + Design MA Interior Design students and local interior design and architecture firms, using innovative architectural materials like tile, carpet, and wood veneer. Teams engaged in a Project Runway-style competition for the Cosmo Couture runway show September 20 at Artisphere to benefit My Sister’s Place. The designs, inspired by the Raymond Saunders painting Red Star (1970) in the Corcoran’s collection, will be on display in Gallery 31, the Corcoran’s FREE dedicated exhibition space, through October 14. On Thursday, September 27, an opening reception will be held 5-7 p.m., and panel will be held at 7 p.m.
