Celebrate Family and Alumni Weekend at the Corcoran College of Art + Design.
We invite families of current
students and all Corcoran alumni to join us for a
weekend of diverse activities, including hands-on workshops,
artist lectures,
gallery tours, an alumni happy hour, a family and alumni brunch, and a walking
tour of
Washington, D.C.’s historic U Street neighborhood. Get a taste of the
Corcoran experience while building new
connections and reuniting with old friends.

U Street Walking Tour

Walk the streets and learn the history behind this diverse and exciting area. For
the first half of the 20th century, the U Street neighborhood inspired and sustained
the rich social, civic, and cultural life of Washington, D.C.'s African American
community. During the years of segregation, U Street was Washington's "Black
Broadway" and the heart of African American business and culture. Today, U Street
boasts an eclectic array of cafes, jazz clubs, shops, and more. Tours leave from the
U Street/Cardozo Metro station (corner of 13th Street and U Street.)
