Located within the historic Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Downtown campus is just a block from the White House. The Gallery's extensive collection of American and European masterworks forms a fascinating backdrop for your education and serves as a source of continual artistic inspiration.
The downtown campus is open to students 24 hours a day, every day. Normal operating hours are 6:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. Students will not be granted access after 12 a.m. unless they are already inside the building.
Getting to the Downtown campus
The Downtown campus is easily reached by Metro.
Blue and Orange Line
Farragut West is the nearest Orange or Blue Line Metro station. Exit at Seventeenth Street and follow Seventeenth Street south for approximately five blocks to New York Avenue. The Corcoran is located at the intersection of Seventeenth Street and New York Avenue.
Farragut North is the nearest Red Line station. Exit at K Street and follow Seventeenth Street south to New York Avenue.
Metered street parking is available in the area from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Follow Connecticut Avenue South. Connecticut turns into Seventeenth Street. The Corcoran will be on the Right at the cross streets of Seventeenth Street and New York Avenue NW.
From West (via I-66)
Take Route 66 East crossing the Roosevelt Bridge. Take the E Street exit (on the left after the bridge). Follow E Street to Seventeenth Street. The Corcoran will be on your left at the intersection of Seventeenth and E Streets NW.
From East (via I-95)
Take Route 95 South to Route 50 West. Follow Route 50 West which will turn into New York Avenue (West). Follow New York Avenue to 9th Street. Make a Left onto 9th Street, follow 9th Street to Constitution Avenue. Make a right on to Constitution Avenue. From Constitution Avenue, turn right on 17th Street. The Corcoran will be on the left at the intersection of 17th and E Street.
From South (via 1-395)
Take Route 395 North to the Fourteenth Street Bridge. Follow Fourteenth Street North. Turn Left from Fourteenth Street onto Madison Drive. Turn Right on Fifteenth Street. Turn Left onto Constitution Avenue. Turn Right onto Seventeenth Street. The Corcoran will be on the left at the intersection of Seventeenth and E Streets NW.
The Washington region is served by three major airports:
Reagan Washington National Airport in suburban Virginia is closest and most convenient to the Corcoran. From the airport, you can hop on a Metrorail train or take a taxi directly to the Downtown campus.
Dulles International Airport is more distant in the Virginia suburbs. You may want to rent a car, take a taxi or use the Washington Flyer shuttles to get into the city. There is not yet direct rail transport from Dulles to Washington, D.C.
Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), in Maryland, is the most distant area airport from the campus. From BWI, you can rent a car or take the Super Shuttle or Amtrak train into Washington, D.C.
1801 Thirty-fifth Street, NW
Washington, DC 20007
Located near the intersection of Thirty-fifth and S Streets, NW, the Georgetown campus opened in the 1990s. Renowned artist and photographer William Wegman helped launch the campus and taught the first course at Georgetown, allowing students to photograph his famous dogs.

Getting to the Georgetown Campus
The Georgetown campus is 1.5 miles from student housing and 2.8 miles from the Downtown campus. Many students ride their bikes to Georgetown or opt to take an easy bus ride. You can reach the campus by Metrobus on routes 30, 31, 32, and 36. These buses all stop at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Thirty-fourth Street. You can also get to campus via Metrobus routes D1 and D2, which stop at Thirty-fifth and S Streets, NW; and by the DC Circulator, which runs between Union Station and the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and 34th Street.
