The Campaign for the Corcoran
The Gehry Wing
these initiatives need your help

Following more than two years of design and program development by the Corcoran staff and Building Committee with Frank Gehry, Trustees of the Corcoran Gallery of Art have approved plans to build the Corcoran's second and final wing and renovate its landmark Beaux Arts building, at 17th Street and New York Avenue, NW.

The renovation and expansion will serve to optimize the entire Corcoran facility and meet the needs of the institution's unprecedented growth. In the past five years, Corcoran Museum membership has tripled, 3,000 objects have been added to the collection, and College enrollment has increased by 60 percent.

Highlights of the renovation and expansion include the construction of a new wing, as well as reconfiguring and recapturing significant space in the historic building, adding approximately 140,000 square feet of flexible space for classrooms, galleries, a restaurant, shop and administrative offices. The renovation of the original building will also improve existing facilities for the exhibition, conservation and storage of artworks.
