Corcoran Ball Junior Committee
The Junior Committee of the Corcoran Ball is a Host Committee made up of vibrant young professionals in the Washington, D.C. area. Under the leadership of our 2015 Corcoran Ball Junior Committee Chairs Mr. and Mrs. William Dean Sands, members act as ambassadors for the Corcoran Ball, filling the tables of the section of the Ball playfully dubbed The Junior Committee Gallery.
The Ball Committee hosts an annual cocktail party in appreciation of the Junior Committee’s hard work. The 2013 gathering was held at the elegant home of a Corcoran Women's Committee Member. Students from the Corcoran College of Art + Design displayed examples of their works, and answered questions about technique, inspiration and area of study. Students thanked the guests for their continued support--a portion of proceeds from the Corcoran Ball funds scholarships for students of the College.
In addition, attendees discussed the exciting plans for the upcoming event, as Ball Chair Logan MacKethan hinted at the beautiful designs currently in the works. The element of surprise surrounding the décor is a long-standing tradition, not to be shared with even the current Ball Committee members!
