Constance Bergfors Travel Research Prize

March 11, 2013

Applications for the Constance Bergfors Travel Research Prize are now being accepted. The Prize is intended to fund travel and research on an independent creative and/or research project developed by an enrolled graduate student in one of the Corcoran Masters programs. Proposals are solicited in one of three areas:

  • Art and Social Activism
  • Sustainability in Art and Design
  • East-West: The Art of Dialogue

Applicants should describe how their proposed research will engage with one of these areas and how the results of that research will impact the academic interests and community of the Corcoran College of Art and Design. The proposal should describe your plan, including a description of your proposed project and details as to how you intend to carry it out. In addition, you should include information about what it is that prepares you to undertake your project, either in previous experience or academic course(s). The specific content of the proposal is up to you, but the proposal should not exceed 1000 words. You may attach a bibliography.

The travel period can be anywhere between 3 weeks to 3 months, and must take place between May and September 2012.

The stipend is $5,000.
