BFA Design Department News

The BFA Design Department, including faculty, staff, students and alumni, has had many recent achievements:

  • BFA Design alum Nancy Palm's graphic design senior thesis poster, "Guilty Until Proven Innocent," which was selected for the 2012 Print Regional Design Annual.
  • BFA Design alum Katherine Carberry' s graphic design senior thesis poster, "The Confederate Flag is not just a symbol of Southern Pride" was selected for the 2012 Print Regional Design Annual.
  • BFA Design alum Susan Park Lee won a 16th Annual Webby Award for her design of the National Geographic 7 billion population iPad APP.
  • BFA Design student Kat White's custom typeface design Gothic Sugar was selected for www.typographyserved.com. View her project here.

  • Adjunct Instructor Antonio Alcala has been selected as one of the Art Directors for the United States Postal Service (USPS). Antonio's responsibilities include creative direction and design for numerous USPS stamp designs.
  • Chair of Undergraduate Design, Francheska Guerrero's, 2011 OPEN Exhibition Graphics project was selected for the 42nd Annual University of College and Designers Association (UCDA) 2012 Design Competition. This year's show will be on display at the 42nd Annual UCDA Design Conference, October 13-16, 2012 in Montreal. Awards will be given out on Sunday, October 14, 2012.
